Video: Learn about some of the cool features in the next elementary OS interation, "Isis"
On April 5th this year Avi Romanoff published a 4 minute video on you-tube showing off some of the amazing new features of the forthcoming release of elementary OS isis.
(Please note that at the time of recording the video, the codename for the project was still isis. You can find more about the name change here)
The video is entitled “isis is insane”. I have watched 4 times and this is something to get excited about. What do you think?
Luna is great and I’m looking forward to Isis, but come on….
I counted 3 awesomes, a frickin genius, a couple of super, super cools, a really, really great, and about 15 AMAZINGS, all in under 4 minutes! As Ardal O’Hanlon once said of Michael Flatley… “that fella needs some sedatives and a slap!” ;o)
The new features do look and sound great, awesome, genius, super cool and amazing. Isis may address some of the failing/lacking/awkward features/functions I’ve noticed since I started using Luna a few weeks back.
I hope Noise has the ability to import m3u playlists, as that’s the only thing holding me up from using it. I would also like to use Midori but in it’s current state on Luna, I just can’t. I also had to drop Geary. It always reports the wrong amount of new emails, usually doubles the count.
BTW, I dropped elementary OS(Luna) on an old Dell Inspiron 1200 with a 1.3ghz cpu, 512mb and 40gb HD. Installing was slightly problematic, could not install and download updates and third party addons due to the limited memory. But installing without those checked off worked, albeit, it took a long time due to the low specs, but it installed non the less. Once installed, of course I was able to add the third party addons and do all the updates needed. Overal operation is smooth enough, but using the software center for installing apps is painfully slow. Installing via terminal though is quick.
Anyway, looking forward to a stable release of super cool, awesome, genius and amazing Isis. 🙂
LOve Luna. Can´t wait for 0.3
